Below are some of my Exhibition Designs for Wakefield Council. ‘Precious’ exhibited in Wakefield Museum in the Summer of 2016. It showcased a collection of rings once owned by historical local icon, Charles Waterton.
Wakefield Museum is situated in the new Wakefield One building in the heart of the city. It hosts a fine collection of historical Wakefield artefacts, and its exhibitions give us an in-depth knowledge about Wakefield's vibrant history.
'Precious', was exhibited in the Special Exhibition Gallery in the summer of 2016. It was a rare opportunity to view Wakefield born Edmund Waterton's wonderful collection of rings on temporary loan from the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
The rings are very old and each unique in the way they have been designed and crafted; some of them date back as early as the 1st Century AD. With this in mind I have created a graphic design style that reflects the natural elements of the jewellery, whilst displaying it’s beauty in a demure way.
The typography chosen for the designs compliments the delicate craftsmanship of the jewellery. For the main title I chose the font, Delicate. Avenir and Times were used for the headings and body copy. The two fonts worked well together.
If you have project coming up and need exhibition designs creation, then I would love to hear from you.
